About
I'm a consultant and writer based in Sacramento, California. I help nonprofits, small businesses, and individuals win grants, land government contracts, and communicate clearly to the audiences that matter. I also serve on the board of the Pacific Crest Trail Association, which manages the PCT.
I've spent 18 years working in government, public affairs, and strategic communications. I started my career as a legislative aide at SEIU Local 1000, where I eventually represented 95,000 state employees as a registered lobbyist before the California Legislature. From there, I joined the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority as Manager of Government and Community Relations, where I led public outreach for the $3.8 billion New Terminal 1 project and helped secure $94.5 million in federal grant funding. I founded CPRA Strategies in 2022.
I hold a B.A. in Government from California State University, Sacramento, where I was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
Outside of work, I run ultramarathons and marathons — six of each so far, including a 50-miler. I'm chasing a 100K by the end of 2026. I practice yoga, love spin class, and travel as often as I can. Favorite hike: Half Dome. Favorite city: Mexico City. Favorite meal: carne asada tacos with beans and rice.
