Wonder Wood Ranch Awarded Grant to Engage Medi-Cal Members

The Central California Alliance for Health awarded CPRA Strategies’ client, Wonder Wood Ranch, a $20,000 grant to support the expanding T.A.I.L.S. Program and to engage and empower Medi-Cal members to promote individual and community health, reduce the risk of disease, address barriers to care, and reduce disparities for the Medi-Cal population.
Wonder Wood Ranch will expand its T.A.I.L.S. Program, which provides trauma- and culturally-informed therapy through animal-assisted play and therapy, life skills development, and career preparation for underserved youth in Monterey County, with a focus on Greenfield, CA.
Youth interns experienced in T.A.I.L.S. will lead activities with peer youth participants to promote health and wellness and take on leadership roles during community events and school trips. A Youth Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the program, community, and health providers to identify and refer Medi-Cal-eligible youth to healthcare and social support providers.
Ashley Martinez of CPRA Strategies led the proposal development process, from the pre-submission meeting with the Alliance grant team to compiling the final submission documents.
The project starts in May 2025 and goes through April 2026.
